Alice Riccardi is associate professor of international law at the Department of Law of Roma Tre University, where she directs the International Protection of Human Rights Legal Clinic. She is Deputy Director of the Roma Tre “European Penological Center”. Prof. Riccardi is a member of the Italian Red Cross Scientific Committee, IHL Section; of the Working group at the Italian Ministry of Defence on the drafting of the Italian Military Manual on International Law applicable to International Missions; of the Italian Society of International Law Interest Group on international law and armed conflcits; of the MacroCrimes research center (Ferrara, Department of Law). Prof. Riccardi worked at the International Criminal Court and at the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia. She has appeared as
amicus curiae
or represented petitioners before the International Criminal Court, the Ombudsman of the UNSC Sanctions Committee on terrorism, the European Court of Human Rights, several UN treaty bodies, and national tribunals. She writes in particular about international criminal law, international human rights law and the international protection of migrants.
