Monica De Simone is Associate Professor of Roman Law at the University of Palermo. Author of various studies in the field of Roman private and public law, also from an interdisciplinary perspective, she has also worked on legal papyrology. She has participated in several research projects.
The main lines of her research concern the idea of citizenship in Roman legal experience, patria potestas and the legal status of filii familias, the historical origins of personal guarantees of obligation and the study of late antiquity.
